Chromebooks at Spencer Borden
Fifth grade students in Ms. Quental's class are excited to be using
Google Chromebooks during their Science block. Stations have been set up
so that a group of students gets to use the Chromebooks to complete
assignments in Discovery Education, while another group completes a
worksheet to go along with the video and interactives. So far its
working out wonderfully and the students are really enjoying this new
technology!

Letourneau students flipping again!
Mrs. DeCoste's 4th grade students have been at it again... flipping the classroom that is! Recently we recorded students presenting some multiplication math strategies they have been working on during the past few weeks. After posting these videos to the Letourneau math webpage, students and parents are able to access these videos from home, providing a place for students to check in or gain a better understanding about a math concept. We encourage parents to check them out as well, in order to better support student learning at home. Check www.fallriverschools.org/letourneaumath.cfm to view all our math videos.

Blended Learning Centers at Tansey!
Students in the Kindergarten and First Grade Classrooms at Tansey Elementary School have been busy using laptops daily during centers time. During the past two weeks I have been working closely with Mrs. Daniel's first grade students during both ELA and Math centers. Students use the laptops once daily completing either the ELA online activity (linked from Mrs. Daniel's webpage) or Dreambox Math.

Glogs and Blogs...
For the last few weeks I've been meeting with 5th grade students in Mrs. Hanley's classes at the Greene School introducing them to a class webpage, blog and how to use glogster.com. Mrs. Hanley has taken the time to create a school webpage in which she updates families on class happenings, as well as posts links to her class Blog where she is posting videos and class discussion topics. She has also created Glogster accounts for all her students to create an online poster for an upcoming Endangered Animal project. I really love the videos she has posted on her blog and the discussion questions for students to comment and think about. It's a way of bringing real life happenings into the classroom. Check out her webpage and blog here!!
